Questions
Short answers about how the puzzle behaves, what it costs you, and what it keeps.
What is Cascadle?
A daily word puzzle. Guess five words, growing from three letters to seven, each turn providing clues to the next one
When do I get a new puzzle?
Midnight where you are. Everyone playing on a given date gets the same five answers.
Can I lose?
No. Guesses are unlimited and there is nothing to lose, except your pride.
How is the score worked out?
Tiles (letters) are counted, not guesses. Every guess costs one tile per letter, so a miss at the bottom of the board costs seven and a miss at the top costs three.
Take all five levels first time and you spend 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 = 25 tiles. No one has ever got a score of 25.
What does Cascadle remember about my play?
Games played, win rate, your best tile score, and how your scores are spread out.
Do I need an account?
No, Your progress and statistics sit in the browser you play in and never reach us.
Can I play offline?
Yes. Load it once while you are online and it keeps a copy of itself, so it works on a train afterwards. You can add it to your home screen and open it like an app, too.
Does it work on a phone?
That is mostly what it was built for. It runs in any current browser, on a phone, tablet or desktop.
Does it cost anything?
No. Free, no ads in the game, nothing to buy.
Is cascadle.xyz the official Cascadle?
Yes. Cascadle is built by Reason Factory Ltd, and cascadle.xyz is the only official one. It has put out a puzzle a day since February 2026.
If you find another site using the name, it is a cheap copy made by scoundrels.
Not covered here?
The rules page walks a board through a repaint, tile by tile. About Cascadle has the word lists and an address to complain to.
