Privacy Policy

Who we are

Cascadle is operated by Reason Factory Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales. We are the data controller for personal data processed in connection with this site.

What we store on your device

Cascadle stores your game progress, statistics, and preferences in your browser's localStorage. This data stays on your device, is never sent to us, and is required for the game to work. It is not used for tracking.

If you accept analytics, Google Analytics also sets cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) used to distinguish anonymous visitors and sessions.

Google Analytics (requires consent)

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google Ireland Limited) to understand how the game is played — for example, how many people finish a puzzle, how long it takes, and which features are used. We have configured Google Analytics to:

  • truncate your IP address before storage (IP anonymisation);
  • disable advertising features and cross-site tracking signals;
  • retain event-level data for at most 14 months.

Google may transfer this data to servers outside the UK/EEA. Google relies on Standard Contractual Clauses and supplementary measures for those transfers. See Google's privacy policy for more.

Legal basis: your consent (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and PECR reg. 6). If you do not consent, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics events are sent.

Cloudflare Web Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand site traffic and performance (which pages are visited, approximate visitor country, browser and device type, page load timings). Cloudflare Web Analytics:

  • does not set any cookies or store anything on your device;
  • does not assign you a persistent identifier;
  • uses your IP address only at the moment of the request to derive an approximate country — the IP itself is not stored.

Because no information is stored on your device and no persistent identifier is created, this does not require your consent under UK GDPR or PECR — it runs for everyone. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.

Legal basis: our legitimate interests in understanding site usage and security (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

Changing or withdrawing your choice

You can change your cookie choice at any time from the "Cookie settings" option in the in-game Settings menu, or by clearing your browser's site data for cascadle.xyz.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Because we do not store personal data on our servers, most of these rights are exercised directly by clearing your browser's storage. For requests involving the data Google Analytics holds, contact us using the details below and we will assist.

You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
